BOYCOT IAMS FOR ANIMAL CRUELTY

An undercover PETA Investigation update. WATCH THE VIDEO. Scroll down for pictures of Iams dogs kept in cages 24/7.

WASHINGTON,DC (RUSHPRNEWS) AUGUST 31,2008–The U.S. Department of Agriculture has released an official complaint stating that the contract laboratory investigated by PETA in 2002 and 2003, which was employed by pet-food manufacturer Iams, “has shown a lack of good faith.”

WATCH THE VIDEO.

The government complaint alleges that the following violations, among others, were documented by government inspectors at the contract laboratory from 2002 to 2005:

Failure to provide pain relief to sheep used in experiments that caused pain or distress
Failure to ensure that personnel were trained to perform experiments on animals
Failure to provide veterinary care and to observe animals daily
Failure to properly ventilate housing facilities for dogs and cats
Failure to house cats with a sufficient number of litterboxes and resting surfaces
Failure to keep animal-housing facilities clean and in good repair, resulting in injuries
Failure to maintain comfortable temperatures in animal-housing facilities
Failure to provide animals with sufficient space

Mas
Christmas
The last three letters of his lab identification are “mas,” thus his name. But his life is far from a celebration. PETA’s investigator discovered that his ears had been allowed to reach a level of such extreme filth that they required medication. She noticed the problem only by giving Christmas hands-on attention which he had never previously received. His feet have developed sores from years of living on cement and slatted metal.
Fifi
Fifi
Fifi has been used in Iams studies for at least six years. She hides in the back of her cage constantly.
Maddog
Maddog
MadDog is frustrated by his life in a 3-foot-by-3-foot cage. He often pushes his food bowl onto the floor to get attention but it hasn’t done any good. He has been caged for Iams metabolic studies for six years. His voice was taken from him surgically during PETA’s investigation.
Maisy
Maisy
Maisy loves attention but rarely gets it. It’s even harder now that she’s been debarked and has no voice. Maisy has been caged since September 18, 1997.
Maxine
Maxine
Maxine hides in the back of her steel cage and in the gutter of her cement kennel. Maxine has trouble eating when she is locked in the metabolic cage. She was surgically debarked along with 18 other Iams dogs during PETA’s investigation. Iams did nothing to stop Maxine or the others from losing their voices.
Mickey
Mickey
Mickey has spent almost her entire life in Iams metabolic studies. She becomes extremely depressed when taken from her cement kennel to be put into the steel metabolic cage.
No Name
No Name
This Iams dog has no name—only a laboratory identification number. She lives in a dark building with no access to the outdoors or natural light, along with approximately 100 other dogs. Because she has no resting board and is not removed from the cage during cleaning time, she often is forced to sit or lie on wet concrete. She is lonely, sweet, and depressed.
Sally
Sally
Sally is extremely timid. She was born on April 10, 1996, and has spent the last six years trying to sleep and walk on cold wide-slatted floors. Many dogs injure themselves when their legs become stuck in between the slats.

Oh my god, Madonna:

WE GET IT. You’ve REALLY been working out. Your muscles are amazing. You could crush a man’s skull with your quads. Every day, you crack walnuts in your arm pits. You have managed to do what Cher could not and actually turned back time. You’re now biologically a 24 year old professional male rock climber who just moonlights as a popular pop star (the positioning of the mic is a bit much, by the way). You are a creature unlike any other and will never age, we promise. Now, will you PLEASE PUT ON SOME PANTS?

So recently i have been on the search for the perfect t shirt…sounds easy right…WRONG..its soo much harder then it sounds. Perfectly cut sleeves. Perfect fit across the shoulders. Not too long, not too short. One hundred percent cotton. Soft to the touch, easy on the eyes, so sexy it’s scary.

The perfect T-shirt: It’s the Holy Grail of fashion. For boys and girls alike.

Below are some of my findings that i have found helpful…my personal FAV is the new label KAIN..in which ive ordered the tshirt, tank top and the tank dress…HAPPY shopping !!!!

“What are the hottest T-shirts celebrities are wearing these days? Celebrities have been seen wearing their t-shirts from running errands to red carpet events, here’s a list of the most popular brands and designs this season.

Rachel Bilson, Heidi Klum, Hilary Duff, Jessica Alba and Kim Kardashian keep it comfortable in LNA. Dressed down or dressed up, it’s back to basics with LNA tees and tanks.

Nicole Richie, Mary Kate Olsen and Hayden Panettiere like the loose fitting styles by Nation. Jen, creator and designer of Nation Ltd., began with rhinestone belt buckles, continued with jewelry, and somehow ended up in the t-shirt biz. Her mission? Create tees that are “really natural, feel really soft (really, really soft) and are easy and uncomplicated.” Her mission was accomplished when she created Nation Ltd. In fact, her tees are so great that Nation Ltd. is number three on Vogue’s top ten t-shirts in the world! In addition to designing, Jen works in entertainment and runs the Joan English Fund for ovarian cancer research.

Nicole Richie, Jessica Simpson, Jennifer Garner, Salma Hayek, Demi Moore, Cameron Diaz, Anne Hathaway, Kate Beckinsale, Demi Moore, Lisa Ling among others love Cherry Tee. Cherry Tee, based in NYC, is a t-shirt and gift company for women and children. The line consists of two main collections — The Bing Collection for everyday basics, including Hollywood’s favorite ribbed tank and the Rainier Collection for luxurious essentials, featuring the super lightweight Tissue tee. The tees and tanks are indeed comfortable!!

Paris Hilton, Christina Aguilera, Lauren Conrad with Tiger, elephant, horse, and leopard like their animal printed Lauren Mochi tees and tanks.

Angelina Jolie, Jennifer Aniston, Courtney Cox, Sienna Miller, Nicole Richie and Lindsay Lohan Lohan show their support for OmniPeace Africa Tee and Tank. Signorelli OmniPeace OmniPeace’s mission is to end extreme poverty in Africa by 2025. Proceeds from the sale of OmniPeace tees are contributed to Millennium Promise, a non-profit organization whose goal is to end extreme poverty by 2025. Their mission is to work village by village in Africa to empower the poor with skills and tools to become self-sufficient. This ultra soft, stretchy tee has rolled half sleeves and the outline of an angel on the front. “PEACE” is printed in red on the bottom left hem, symbolizing Signorelli’s efforts to make a difference through their designs.

Kain Label

pick your style!

It’s nearly impossible to picture a world without T-shirts.

For starters, Venice Beach would be unbearable, gyms would go formal, and chances are you’d be reading this in your bra.

Perish the thought. Kain is here.

The tightly edited new line of tees from Amanda Kain, owner of Threadbare Vintage in Topanga Canyon, consists of four perfectly updated versions of the classics: crew, V-neck, tank, and three-quarter-length sleeve. And while the slouchy pocket on all but the V give these simple tops a hint of a boyish edge, the just-right oversize cut adds the right amount of slink.

In basic black, white, or heather gray, the fabric is 90 percent modal and 10 percent cashmere, which makes this everyday staple 100 percent luxurious.

Red Cliff

John Woo’s long-anticipated epic movie Red Cliff opens this week in Asia. It’s been a long, hard road for the project from the start, filled with major cast dropouts (then drop-ins, then dropouts again), a massive ballooning budget, and even a death on the set. But the movie has finally arrived, and according to the one person I know who’s actually seen it, it’s “spectacular.” Could this be John Woo’s return to glory? The world will soon find out: ‘Red Cliff’ ready for its closeup.

Red Cliff, adapted from China’s classic novel Romance of the Three Kingdoms, is over four hours long. It’s one of those big-ass costume action spectacles. For Asian territories, the movie is being split into two parts, with the first released yesterday in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Korea. Audiences outside of Asia will get a single movie, expected to be 2 1/2 hours long. We’ll get to see it stateside here in January.

The story is set in the final days of the Han Dynasty, in the year 208, covering the war that established the Three Kingdoms period, when China had three rulers. The movie stars Tony Leung, Takeshi Kaneshiro, Zhang Fengyi, Chang Chen and Lin Chiling. Yeah, it’s a big deal. Watch this 9-minute promo reel above to get a glimpse of the scale and scope of the production. Sorry, no English subtitles. But you get the idea.

My new iPhone will cost how much? Thanks a lot, AT&T

Man, I’m pretty steamed about the just-revealed details of the iPhone 3G price plan — and if you’re an existing AT&T customer, you should be too. After all the fuss about the $199 iPhone, it turns that those of us already on AT&T plans are going to have to pay twice as much — namely, the existing iPhone price of $399.

Not surprisingly, I’m less-than-thrilled about this news. It’s starting to feel like everything after the announcement of the iPhone 3G at WWDC has been a string of “Wait, but there’s a catch …” First, AT&T said it’s increasing the price of iPhone’s data plan by $10 a month. Next, MG Siegler noticed the real ripoff: You’ll need to pay extra for text messaging.

Still, those announcements fell under the heading of “annoying but fair.” Basically, they seemed like AT&T’s way to recoup its iPhone subsidy by charging its customers extra rates. This news, however, means that people like me — AT&T customers who haven’t bought an iPhone yet — get the worst of both worlds; we lose out on the discount, and we get to pay the increased rates. It’s like I’ll be subsidizing AT&T’s efforts to bring customers over from other carriers. Um, thanks?

So you’re probably thinking, “If you don’t like it, why are you buying an iPhone?” Good point. In fact, I’m so peeved about this, that I’m going to boycott the iPhone. For a day.
