Last Saturday February 27, 2010, The House of GLAM had the pleasure of attending the Chong Hing & Montblanc 2010 Trunk Show to witnessed North American unveiling of the Beijing Opera Mask Limited Edition at the Chong Hing Store in Los Angeles, CA.
Cocktails and Hors d’oeuvres were a plenty as we were introduced by our gracious host, Stephanie Sun,to the beautiful collections exhibited in the store as well as exposed to the different luxury brands that Chong Hing Jewelers carried.
The Beijing Opera Mask Fountain Pen pays tribute to the famous Beijing Opera, symbolised with two coloured masks on the cap, rooted in the old Chinese dynasties. Limited to 88 pieces as reference to the lucky number in Asia, it retails at $26,400. The pen is made of solid white gold with lacquer inlays and rings set with 167 diamonds with Montblanc logo in mother of pearl.
Also present was their MontBlanc annual Edition which was a collector’s series made of Meissen porcelain featuring carefully hand-painted motifs from the legendary world of “Classical Myths”, the magical atmosphere of the “Venetian Carnival” and the fantastic realm of “Mythical Creatures”.
We also got a glimpse at a chrono masterpiece: The Montblanc Nicolas Rieussec Monopusher Chronograph. It is the first mechanical movement pen manufactured in Montblanc’s own workshops in Le Locle. It takes its inspiration from Nicolas Rieussec’s 1822 invention of the world’s first chronograph.
The detailed craftsmanship and the intricate back story of each of these pieces truly rendered them as luxury art. The House of GLAM sends our warm regards to Chong Hing for introducing us to their world of beauty and elegance.
